Lighten Your Life - Spring 1998
by Marilyn Redmond

And what is His law? It is to love the Lord, to eschew evil-which is the whole duty of man-love thy neighbor as thyself. This brings into the consciousness that peace which each soul seeks, and brings with same healing-not only of body but of mind, and keeps the attunement with the spirit of truth. 1747-5

As to thy music, in this thy hands may bring the consciousness of the harmonies that are created by the vibrations in the activities of each soul; that each other soul may, too, take hope; may, too, be just kind, just gentle, just patient, just humble. 518-2

Are You Part Of God's Community?

A heavenly choir's voices attune in harmony. Add an orchestra, flutes, violins, trumpets, and cellos. Include supportive energy from dancers. This joyous community celebrates heart to heart.

I sang in choirs, played the flute in orchestras, and danced in recitals as a child, but it seemed like I didn't fit into these groups. Why did I feel separated? Was I inadequate or inferior?

Maturity into spiritual enlightenment showed me that the picture is not the outside view. I needed to love myself and lower my illusionary walls. I tried being kind to others, but I didn't understand at a younger age it was superficial. Overcoming a blaming, shaming, and guilt-driven "young inner-self to manifesting "Love thy neighbor as thyself became significant in my adult life.

The Bible says that I have to clean the inside for the outside to be clean, also. This means an inner housecleaning is necessary to release false beliefs, fantasy, fear, resentments and other negative emotions and attitudes that create barriers to morality.

Recognizing delusions for self-protection means, I can ask God to humbly remove them and thank Him for clarity. A remaining void permits loving energy to flow in and out completing a circle. My inner self needs the sunlight of inherent truth to manifest out as if changing metal to gold in alchemy. Free of misperceptions, I can walk beside my heavenly Father as His child, like in the poem about footprints in the sand.

I am a community member by choice and action. Faith instead of fear motivates my joining, participating, and serving in lyrical praise as our Creator's Will conducts His cosmic carols of cheer in the universe.

"If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another." 1 John 1:7

"...since peace on earth and good will toward all must first be experienced by the individual before it may be realized among nations." SFG p.66
