Anna Nicole Smith's body contained 13 different drugs according to her autopsy. The opinion of the Chief Medical Examiner, Joshua A. Perper, M.D. and Gertrude M. Jaste, M.D., Associate Chief Medical Examiner, was that she died of acute drug intoxication. The manner of death is determined to be: accident. Mix her internal drug cocktail with the alcohol consumed when you party; it was no accident. Alcohol, a drug, is discounted because it is not a prescription nevertheless it increases the problematic disastrous results. One pill and one drink is six times the affect.

Who is creating the belief that drugs will fix everything? In the field of addiction a drug, is a drug, is a drug; it makes no difference to what class you are describing; liquid, pill, or shot; they are toxic. Replacing one drug with another or adding more drugs does not make a person clear-headed, rational, or treat the deeper problem; they are mind and mood altering drugs.

California Attorney General Brown said his office was cracking down on the abuse of legal drugs. "Prescription drugs are abused in far too many cases," he said. "I want people to know that henceforward, the DOJ will be on the trail of people who abuse dangerous but lawful drugs."

Meanwhile, the patient continues returning to the doctor and buying more pills without restored health as apparently Anna did. Stuffing and suppressing the symptoms through prescriptions often deters healing and creates more problems as in Anna's acute drug intoxication. However, you can only take medicines if they are prescribed. Who is the abuser?

Beware! Increasing the sale of drugs and growing profits are motivating the drug companies to promote prescriptions as an alternative to Alcoholism. Moreover, the truth is drug companies are trying to sell more drugs to replace potential lost revenues from the sale of the liquid drug of liquor companies. The patient is suggested to replace their alcohol for a pill. "The market potential is big. The NIAAA [National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism] estimates about 18 million Americans are dependent on or abuse alcohol, with more than two million adults seeking treatment each year." Mail Tribune Newspaper, September 14, 2005

Medical help in acute occurrences or antibiotics type of medications are desirable. However, perpetuating patients and drug purchases is the major concern in medicine and the drug companies. Restricted coverage by medical insurance for alternative methods that are natural and usually cheaper threatens profits for the drug companies.

Addiction and dependence information is not generally taught to doctors. In addition, withholding information by drug companies has occurred with anti-depressant drugs and likely others. Marilyn Redmond, a holistic health counselor, says "As a sober person for over twenty-two years, I am completing a book that sets the record straight on the effects of drugs, offering alternatives for healthiness that are drug-free." She was told by Dr. George Zerr, a psychiatrist now retired, "You understand addiction better than most doctors".
